Twitter data breach : Followed by Google, yet another incident where the users’ data was stolen from a reputed social media, none other than Twitter, has confirmed that a malicious code was inserted into its app by a hacker through their Android application, which could have an effect on several people, including users from India.

Several users in India got an email from Twitter asking them to change the password as soon as possible.

“Prior to the fix, through a complicated process involving the insertion of malicious code into restricted storage areas of the Twitter app, it may have been possible for a bad actor to access information (Direct Messages, protected Tweets, location information) from the app,” Twitter said in a statement for this Twitter data breach.

Due to a gap in the code, the android application of twitter provided scope to hackers to access the non-public information of individual accounts like posting tweets or sending direct messages, confirmed twitter.

Twitter, although, did not sound sure how much damage has been made or even any damage is done by the hackers in terms of data being hacked in this Twitter data breach.

Twitter has ensured the users that the fix has been applied, and to provide, users must change their password along with updating the application with the latest release on play store.

Twitter has also communicated that there is no impact on the iOS version of the twitter app and has no effect on this breach what do ever.
